Senior Accounts Assistant
Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:

  1. Examining payment vouchers and posting in vote book/budget control records;
  2. Processing imprests, advances and other disbursements and remitting statutory deductions;
  3. Making petty cash payments and maintaining petty cashbook;
  4. Providing safe custody of accounting records, documents and assets;
  5. Maintaining imprest ledger and following up on surrender of imprests; and
  6. Undertaking bank deposits, dispatch of cheques and cash withdrawals.
Job Specification

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. Certified Public Accountants (CPA)Part II or its equivalent;
  2. Two (2) years relevant work experience in the public or private institution;
  3. Demonstrated results in work performance; and
  4. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
