Principal Sales and Marketing Officer
Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

  1. Conducting market research to inform the marketing strategy with the aim of increasing the sales volumes;
  2. Identifying market     opportunities    and     advising     management accordingly;
  3. Communicating with    target         audiences          and managing customer relationships;
  4. Managing the production of marketing materials and distribution;
  5. Organizing and attending events such as exhibitions and marketing workshops;
  6. Contributing to and developing sales and marketing plans and strategies and evaluating their effectiveness;
  7. Sourcing advertising opportunities and placing adverts in the press or on the radio;
  8. Responsible for obtaining profitable results from the sales team through providing leadership and monitoring their performance;
  9. Planning for and overseeing the performance Appraisal System for the sales & marketing team;
  10. Coordinating sales target setting and administration of individual reward systems according to existing organization’s policy;
  11. Coordinating training   for   both   the   sales    team   and   Artificial Insemination service providers;
  12. Coordinating debt collection through active involvement of the sales team in the process;
  13. Ensuring that the sales and marketing budget is adhered to;
  14. Participating in innovative branding and development of promotional activities for KAGRC.
Job Specification
  1. Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Commerce, Entrepreneurship or its equivalent from a reputable institution or a degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Animal Production or its equivalent;
  2. Masters degree in a relevant field or its equivalent;
  3. Should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a busy sales and marketing department working as a team leader in an organization dealing with livestock, pharmaceutical products or any other related field;
  4. Ability to travel country wide and the region to meet customers;
  5. A member of a professional body recognized in Kenya; and
  6. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
